Title:
Memories I've Never Had
(2022-2023)
Is a short series rooted in my experience growing up as a Haitian adoptee in a predominantly white environment. I’ve often found myself imagining the “what ifs”—the lives I could have lived, the places I might have known, and the memories I never got to make.
This project began in a neighborhood where I’ve always gone to buy hair products—a space that has always felt both familiar and distant. Through walking, observing, and engaging in conversations with people I met along the way, I began to reflect on identity, belonging, and memory. The result is a small collection that weaves together video and photography about memories I’ve never had.
